PAPSI  Career and Program Areas

In these pages the Association will provide information that may be useful to trainers and others in the fields of Law, Law Enforcement, Fire Service, Corrections, Security, Emergency Services/EMT and other related fields. We are beginning with five areas that reflect the Associations mission and focus.

They are:

  1. Cross-disciplinary training and cooperation. One of the key reasons that drove the formulation of PAPSI was the need to cooperate across disciplines and thus to create training and education programs that help students and professional gain the skills and knowledge to work across disciplines in a wide variety of situations.

  2. Community Relations, race relations and community policing. These are terms that indicate processes and needs that create safer and more liveable communities. They typically require a variety of community, state and federal agencies to work together to achieve mutual goals of safer and more prosperous communities.

  3. Career programs, issues and ideas. Here we provide ideas and examples of programs and ideas for helping those develop in their chosen field. This includes programs from middle and high school into and through the professions.

  4. Training techniques and lessons. This section will provide examples of training techniques that may be of use to instructors and educators.

  5. Technology. Because technology plays such a dominant role in the Associations targeted professions, this section will include both information to include in a variety of training settings as well as technology that is used to communicate and work across disciplines.
